The method includes: detecting a value of a distance between the wearable device and a user; detecting a body characteristic value of the user; and determining that the wearable device is worn on the user, if the value of the distance between the wearable device and the user is less than or equal to a preset distance threshold and the body characteristic value of the user does not exceed a preset threshold of the body characteristic value of the user. According to the present invention, whether a user wears a wearable device can be determined quickly and accurately by detecting a value of a distance between the wearable device and the user and a body characteristic value of the user, and a detection success rate is high.
