The arithmetic operation device includes an external communication unit which receives, for each function, function configuration information including first verification information and first identification information of the one or more electronic control units constituting the function, an acquisition unit which acquires version information of software installed on the electronic control unit and second identification information of the electronic control unit from each of the plurality of electronic control units, a calculation unit which calculates, for each function, second verification information by using the version information acquired by the acquisition unit which is the version information of all the electronic control units constituting the function and the second identification information of all the electronic control units constituting the function, and a determination unit that determines, for each function, whether or not the first verification information and the second verification information match.
