The method includes: determining at least one functional safety indicator that indicates at least whether associated data, especially V2X data that comprises at least one of a vehicle operating parameter and a roadway event, or industrial data that comprises a machine operating parameter, or building technology data that comprises building operational data, is relevant according to at least one safety integrity level; and transmitting the data along with the at least one determined functional safety indicator.
