The electrochemical cell may include a solid-state electrolyte defining a first major surface and a negative electrode defining a second major surface. The electrochemical cell may also include an interfacial layer disposed between the first major surface of the solid-state electrolyte and the second major surface of the solid electrode. The interfacial layer may include an ion-conductor disposed in an organic matrix.
