In some aspects, a user equipment may receive, when operating in a multiple link communication system, one or more downlink control information (DCI) messages scheduling one or more downlink communications. The user equipment may determine, based at least in part on the one or more DCI messages, whether a communication constraint is satisfied for the one or more downlink communications. The user equipment may determine a communication configuration for the one or more downlink communications based at least in part on whether the communication constraint is satisfied. The user equipment may receive, in the multiple link communication system, the one or more downlink communications based at least in part on the communication configuration.
