The display device including a pixel electrode on a substrate, a light emitting element on the pixel electrode, and including a first semiconductor layer, an active layer on the first semiconductor layer, and a second semiconductor layer on the active layer, a connection electrode layer between the light emitting element and the pixel electrode, and directly contacting the pixel electrode, an insulating layer on the substrate and the pixel electrode, and surrounding the light emitting element, and a common electrode on the insulating layer directly contacting the second semiconductor layer of the light emitting element.
