In the ink set described above, a content of the aggregating agent in the first treatment liquid is 0.60 mol/kg or more, a content of the aggregating agent in the second treatment liquid is less than 0.60 mol/kg, the first treatment liquid is used together with the ink composition for recording on a recording medium which is a low-permeable substrate, and the second treatment liquid is used together with the ink composition for recording on a recording medium which is an impermeable substrate.
