Abstract: A recording method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a treatment liquid attachment step of attaching a treatment liquid containing an aggregating agent to a recording medium, a white ink attachment step of ejecting a white ink composition containing a white coloring material from an ink jet head and attaching the white ink composition to the recording medium, and a non-white ink attachment step of ejecting a non-white ink composition containing a non-white coloring material from the ink jet head and attaching the non-white ink composition to the recording medium, the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition are aqueous inks, the white ink attachment step and the non-white ink attachment step are each performed by scanning in which the ink composition is ejected from the ink jet head and attached to the recording medium while the ink jet head is moved with respect to the recording medium in a state where a position is fixed, in the white ink attachment step, the white ink composition is attached to a scanning region of one scanning in one scanning, in the non-white ink attachment step, the non-white ink composition is attached to a scanning region of one scanning in one scanning, on the scanning region in which scanning in one of the white ink attachment step and the non-white ink attachment step is performed, scanning in another step is performed by another scanning, and in the white ink attachment step and the non-white ink attachment step, a surface temperature of the recording medium is 35° C. or lower.

Abstract: A recording method includes a white ink attachment step, in which a white ink composition containing a white colorant is attached to a recording medium; a non-white ink attachment step, in which a non-white ink composition containing a non-white colorant is attached to overlap the attached white ink composition; a first treatment liquid attachment step, accompanying the white ink attachment step and in which a treatment liquid containing a flocculant is attached to the recording medium; and a second treatment liquid attachment step, accompanying the non-white ink attachment step and in which a treatment liquid containing a flocculant is attached to the recording medium. The white ink composition experiences a five-fold or greater increase in viscosity when mixed with a 7% by mass aqueous solution of calcium formate in a ratio by mass of 10:1, the white ink composition to the aqueous solution of calcium formate. The attachment density of the treatment liquid in the second treatment liquid attachment step is lower than that in the first treatment liquid attachment step.

Abstract: An ink jet printing method includes a printing step of performing a plurality of times of scanning performed by ejecting a treatment liquid and an ink composition from an ink jet head having treatment liquid nozzles and ink nozzles that is being transferred in a scanning direction, thus applying the treatment liquid and the ink composition onto a printing medium. The ink jet head has an arrangement of treatment liquid ejection nozzles that includes a coincident portion, and an arrangement of ink ejection nozzles that includes a coincident portion, and the coincident portions are coincident in position in the sub-scanning direction with each other. In the printing step, the coincident portion of the arrangement of the treatment liquid ejection nozzles accounts for 60% or more of the length in the sub-scanning direction of the arrangement of the treatment liquid ejection nozzles, and the treatment liquid is applied onto a region of the printing medium in a proportion of from 20% by mass to 50% by mass relative to the ink composition applied onto the region.
