The method comprises capturing one or more audio signals based on one or more sensors onboard a vehicle. The method may include extracting one or more features associated with each of the one or more audio signals. The method further includes, generating an output for predicting the accident, based on the extracted one or more features associated with each of the one or more audio signals. Further, the output comprises a predicted accident state and an associated confidence value. Also, the predicted accident state comprising at least one of: a no accident state, a pre-accident state, a light accident state, and an intense accident state.
