摘要：
A fibrous web is stitch-bonded in an atlas construction which is elastic in two directions whereupon the web is tensioned in one direction thereof. The web contracts and is crimped by the stitches in the respective other direction, and is treated to make the crimp permanent so that the finished fabric is expansible in the crimped direction.
