Abstract:
PROCESS FOR DECAFFENINATING GREEN COFFEE BEANS WITH SOLUTIONS OF ESTERS OF POLYHYDRIC ALCOHOLS AND EDIBLE CARBOXYLIC ACIDS TO PRODUCE BEANS HAVING RESIDUAL QUANTITIES OF SAID ESTER, AND AMOUNTS OF SUGAR AND OTHER NON-CAFFEINE COFFEE SOLUBLES SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME AS THAT EXISTING IN THE BEANS PRIOR TO DECAFFEINATION.
