Olefinic epoxy compounds are prepared by reacting a material containing at least one terminal --C.dbd.CH group with an epihalohydrin followed by dehydrohalogenation. The materials are useful as halogen scavengers in the preparation of coatings, castings, laminates, composites, and the like.
