In accordance with the present invention, there are provided an olefin polymerization catalyst formed from:[A] a compound of a transition metal belonging to Group IV B of the periodic table,[B] an aluminoxane, and[C] water,an olefin polymerization catalyst formed from [D] an organoaluminum compound in addition to the above-mentioned [A], [B] and [D] components, and processes for the polymerization of olefins using the above-mentioned olefin polymerization catalysts, respectively.
