Abstract:
For manufacturing a high-density, transparent phosphor ceramic, a ceramic press mold is employed which is lined with an intermediate layer containing MoS.sub.2, and an initial phosphor material is pressed in a single-axis manner therein under elevated temperature to form the luminous ceramic.
