The novel optically active compounds of formula I: (R1, Hal and L1 through L5 are defined in the specification) wherein the enantiomeric excess of the (S)-enantiomer is at least 70%., show enhanced selective fungicidal activity. The new compounds are processed with carriers, and optionally with adjuvants, to form fungicidal compositions.
