The invention relates to a process for preparing ar(alk)yluracils of the general formula (I) in which A represents a single bond or represents alkanedlyl, Ar represents optionally substituted aryl, R1 represents optionally substituted alkyl and R2 represents hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, and to novel intermediates for this purpose and to processes for their preparation.
