For such a purpose, the optical pickup unit is held by a screw shaft and a guide shaft parallel to each other, and the screw shaft, the guide shaft, a first connecting plate and a second connecting plate constitute a quadrilateral parallel link. The screw shaft and a chassis holding a turntable are oscillated by a driving motor pivoting on the first connecting plate. In an escape position in which the optical pickup device is away from the disk accommodating section, a gap between the screw shaft and the guide shaft is narrowed.
