The layer containing the organic compound includes a bisfluorene compound represented by General Formula [1] below. wherein in Formula [1], A is a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkylene group, a substituted silylene group, a substituted germylene group, an oxygen atom, and a sulfur atom.
