The first drive operation performs a driving process with a first drive voltage higher than an original application voltage, and the second drive operation performs a driving process with a second drive voltage lower than the original application voltage. The liquid crystal display panel includes one or more pixel electrodes each having a plurality of slits, and one or more alignment control electrodes provided in one or more regions corresponding to one or more of the slits of the pixel electrode. The alignment control electrode configures a capacitive element in cooperation with the pixel electrode. Electric potential of the pixel electrode is lower than that of the alignment control electrode.
