The method comprises the steps of transmitting the broadcast control channel continuously on a first carrier; and also transmitting the broadcast control channel non-continuously and periodically at regular intervals. This prevents or at least minimizes, for example, MBMS data loss when a UE with a single receiver listens to a dedicated MBMS carrier.
