The electrode assembly includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator. The negative electrode is opposed to the positive electrode. The separator is disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The container houses the electrode assembly and the nonaqueous electrolyte. The container has a positive electrode terminal and a negative electrode terminal. The positive electrode terminal is electrically connected to the positive electrode. The negative electrode terminal is electrically connected to the negative electrode. The container further includes a short-circuiting mechanism that short-circuits the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal if the internal pressure rises. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains lithium bis(oxalato)borate (LiBOB).
