In this regard, a wheel assembly is provided comprising a wheel base having a side rim disposed about a circumference of the wheel base, and a lock ring disposed within a cavity between the wheel base and the side rim. An air seal may be disposed between the wheel base and the inside surface of the side rim. Lock ring has two non-contiguous surface contacts with the wheel base and two non-contiguous surface contacts with the side rim each enabling various torque paths of lock ring.
