The device comprises means for receiving a plurality of channel change requests from a group of users of the IPTV system. The selection engine (2) is arranged for determining the selected channel from a plurality of IPTV channels based on at least one selection criterion derived from at least a part of the plurality of channel change requests of the group of users.
