A cradle suspending device which is able to accurately adjust the position of a cradle, prevents the wobbling of a load while it is carried, and effects automatic loading in a smooth manner to thereby reduce labour. To make this happen, a strut device for freely imparting and/or releasing a strutting force is provided between a crane suspended device (3) suspended from a crane (1) for vertical movement and a cradle clamping device (4) for suspending a cradle (10) in a detachable fashion. In addition, a photoelectric sensor (23) is provided on the clamping device (4) for detecting a cradle (10) stacked higher than a predetermined level.
