In a variable speed electronically switched d.c. motor, the stepwise or stepless speed adjustment is provided by means of the electronic variation of the current conduction angle between 90 DEG el and 180 DEG el. The phase winding of each individual coil of the motor has a first winding (W1) via at least two winding teeth (64, 65) and a first number of turns (N1) and a second winding (W2) via a single winding tooth (65 or 64) and a second number of turns (N2), in which the direction of winding (68) of both of them is the same and the second winding (W2) is arranged via a single winding tooth (64 or 65) at the end (Fig. 4A) or beginning (Fig. 4B) of the phase winding concerned.
