The invention relates to a winding assembly for a rotating electrical machine, especially consisting of a two-part body having windings arranged in grooves, whereby the winding assembly is a hollow-cylindrical outer part (1) having closed grooves (4), the bottoms thereof being open, and includes an inner part (2) matching the hollow-cylindrical outer part (1). The hollow cylindrical outer part (1) differs from its spherical shape at one point on the inner side thereof and forms a straight, segmented dent (3). All closed grooves (4) are evenly distributed throughout the periphery of the assembly and have an opening in the bottom in the direction of the inner part (2). The periphery of the inner part (2) exactly matches the outer part (1) thereby forming the closure for the grooves (4) in the outer part (1).
