Abstract:
A process for selectively producing adamantane or an analogue thereof with a production apparatus constituted of inexpensive materials, without adversely influencing the natural environment. The process comprises isomerizing a C 10 or higher, tricyclic saturated hydrocarbon in the presence of a metal−supporting solid acid catalyst and is characterized by conducting the isomerization in the presence of water and/or an alcohol.
