The information storage medium comprises audio/video (AV) data; a markup language document by which a display window is defined, the display window on which an AV screen is output in order to reproduce the AV screen based on the AV data in an interactive mode; and mode information which is to indicate information on the current display mode when the AV screen is displayed in a plurality of modes. With the medium, a user-friendly interface which indicates an interactive mode that is not a video mode, even in a full-screen mode that is a subordinate mode of the interactive mode, is provided.
