Abstract:
A power cable heating arrangement (100) is disclosed, comprising a first electric heating element (101) adapted to generate heat in at least a portion (102) of a conductor (103) of a first power cable (104) on a condition that an electrical current is supplied to the first electric heating element (101). A second electric heating element (105) is adapted to generate heat in a predefined portion (106) of a conductor (107) of a second power cable (108) on a condition that an electrical current is supplied to the second electric heating element (105). At least one temperature sensor (110) is arranged in relation to the second power cable (108) so as to be able to sense a temperature of the predefined portion of the conductor of the second power cable. An electrical current source (112) is coupled to the at least one temperature sensor (110) and the first and second electric heating elements (101, 105), respectively. The electrical current source (112) is adapted to supply an electrical current to the first electric heating element (101) and to the second electric heating element (105), respectively. On a condition that there is a difference between the sensed temperature of the predefined portion (106) of the conductor (107) of the second power cable (108) and a predefined temperature, the electrical current source (112) is adapted to, based on the difference, adjust the electrical current being supplied to the first electric heating element (101) and to the second electric heating element (105), respectively.
