The method for determination of content of hydrophobic compounds in water-miscible organic liquids is based on the segregation of hydrophobic compounds contained in organic liquids after their mixing with water in form of discrete, relatively stable nanoparticles, whose number concentration, size, and density correlate with the hydrophobic compounds content, which is subsequently quantified by calibration curves. The laser light scattering method can be used for such quantification. The advantage of the method is a low equipment price, a low single- measurement price, its compactness/use in the field, and mainly its appropriateness for use as a screening method.
