Abstract:
A filter media (62) includes flutes (72), forward plugs (78), and aft plugs. Each of the flutes (72) has a forward flute face, an aft flute face, and a flute body defining a flute conduit to convey the fluid. The forward plugs (78) are disposed in alternating ones of the flutes (72). Each forward plug (78) includes a plug base and an aerodynamic plug nose (90) (90). The aerodynamic plug nose (90) (90) has a center axis (100) and a nose surface (94) tapering outwardly from the center axis (100) towards the plug base. The plug nose (90) is configured to aerodynamically redirect a flow of the fluid away from the center axis (100). The flutes (72) that have forward plugs (78) include a flute outlet disposed at the aft flute face. The aft plugs are disposed in the flutes (72) adjacent to the flutes (72) that have corresponding forward plugs (78). The flutes (72) that have aft plugs include a flute inlet (76) disposed at the forward flute face.
