Abstract: A containerized battery system (10) includes a container (12) having a container door (14), batteries (22) within the container (12), and an electronically controlled container heater. The system (10) further includes an anti-condensation control system (30) including an access control unit (50) structured to compare an inside dewpoint value to an outside dewpoint value, and operate the electronically controlled container heater (26) to increase an inside temperature of the container (12) to an anti-condensation target temperature. The access control unit (50) is further structured to adjust the door access device to an unrestricted-access state based on the increase to the inside temperature of the container (12).

Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder may include a housing and a rod extending from a working end positioned outside the housing through a rod end of the housing to a piston end positioned within the housing. The hydraulic cylinder may also include a piston arranged on the piston end of the rod and configured to articulate within the housing. The hydraulic cylinder may also include a cap end secured to the housing and having a pocket for receiving a sensor. The pocket may have a cylindrical sidewall. The cap end may include a bore extending therethrough and arranged generally tangential to the sidewall where the bore extends into the cap end, breaches the sidewall, and extends further passed the pocket. The hydraulic cylinder may also include a retention pin configured for placement in the bore and for an interference fit with the sensor when the sensor is arranged in the pocket.

The system (1) includes a plug-in electric vehicle (10) having a frame (11), a rechargeable battery pack (14), a vehicle inlet (15), a positioning module (18), and a first communication module (19); and a battery charging station (20) having a plurality of connectors (21), an actuation mechanism (22), and a second communication module (23). The battery charging station (20) is in operative communication with the PEV (10), can anticipate an arrival of the PEV (10), and can ready a connector (21(a)) corresponding to the PEV's (10) vehicle inlet type. The method (100) includes monitoring one or more characterising parameters of a PEV (10), determining that the PEV (10) needs charging, routing the PEV (10) to a battery charging station (20), transmitting forecasting information and an identity of the PEV (10) to the battery charging station (20), and charging the PEV (10) at the battery charging station (20).

Abstract: A cryogenic fluid containment system (100) is disclosed. The system (100) can store a fluid such as hydrogen at a cryogenic temperature and pressure. As the fluid naturally warms, boil-off fluid is produced by the fluid and can be directed to a backup power system (128) (128) that is configured to consume the boil-off fluid. The boil-off fluid being extracted from the cryogenic fluid containment system (100) causes additional boil-off fluid to be generated from the fluid and refrigerate the fluid within the cryogenic fluid containment system (100). Additionally, the boil-off fluid can be monitored over time such that as the boil-off fluid accumulates within the storage tank (114) (114), a boil-off controller (136) (136) can determine whether the boil-off fluid is to be extracted from the storage tank (114) (114). The boil-off controller (136) (136) can enable the fluid to be maintained below a pressure threshold within the storage tank (114) (114).

The slip ring assembly (138, 638) includes one or more slip rings (140, 640). The one or more slip rings (140, 640) include a body portion (142, 642) defining an outer surface (144, 644). The one or more slip rings (140, 640) also include an oxide layer (150, 650) disposed on the outer surface (144, 644) of the body portion (142, 642). The oxide layer (150, 650) is non-uniform. The oxide layer (150, 650) is formed on account of a thermal oxidation process of the one or more slip rings (140, 640) during an operation of the alternator (100). Further, the thermal oxidation process for formation of the oxide layer (150, 650) initiates when an operating temperature of one or more components of the alternator (100) lies within a predetermined temperature threshold range (R1, R2).

In another aspect, a method of manufacturing a track shoe assembly may include forming a shoe plate as described above, forming a grouser as described above, and attaching the grouser to the shoe plate to thereby form a track shoe assembly.

Each rolling element of the plurality of rolling elements (400A, 400B) may have a surface hardness of HRC 59-63, a hardened depth that is 0.5 mm to 3.0 mm deep, and may be derived from a low carbon bearing steel material. The hardened depth is measured from the surface of each rolling element (400A, 400B) and the low carbon bearing steel material has, by weight percent, from 0.12% to 0.25% carbon.
