Abstract:
An on-board charge controller (100) of an electric vehicle, a central charge controller (104), and methods therein, for handling battery charge. The central charge controller (104) receives reports from two electric vehicles (100, 102) comprising intended routes to destinations to be travelled by the electric vehicles and an indication of their current battery charge level (100C, 102C). The central charge controller (104) further determines a proposed location where the first and second electric vehicles (100, 102) can exchange battery power, based on the received reports, and sends the proposed location to the first and second electric vehicles (100, 102). The first and second electric vehicles (100, 102) then transfer battery power between the batteries (100B, 102B) of the electric vehicles (100, 02) at the proposed location.
