Abstract:
A battery balancing system (100) for parallel connected batteries (101) for balancing batteries that are at dissimilar voltages. The system has a high and a low bus (108, 109), connected by a current limiter (107). The high bus (108) takes energy from the highest voltage battery or batteries in the system and transfers the energy through the current limiter (107) to the low bus (109), which in turn delivers energy to the lowest voltage battery or batteries in the system.
