A method for sizing a polytetramethylene terephthalate fiber yarn, characterized as comprising controlling the stretch ratio S (%) between a squeezing roll and a drying cylinder to a range from -9 % to -3 %, or from -1 % to +4 %; and a beam of sized polytetramethylene terephthalate fiber yarns for weaving having a winding hardness of 65 to 90 degrees, which may be obtained by winding sized yarns prepared according to the above method round a beam with a tension of 0.09 to 0.22 cN/dtex. The beam for weaving is improved in sticking property and exhibits good weaving characteristics.

To provide a method for sizing polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber yarns and a warp beam improved in mutual stickiness of the yarns and excellent in weavability. The sizing method according to the present invention is characterized in that the yarns are dried while controlling a stretch ratio S (%) between a squeeze roll and a drying cylinder in a range from -9 to -3% or from -1 to +4%. From the sized yarns thus obtained, a warp beam is formed at a winding tension in a range from 0.09 to 0.22 cN/dtex to have hardness in a range from 65 to 90 degrees.

The present invention provides a stretchable high density woven fabric showing a cover factor of from 1,800 to 2,540 and stretchability in terms of a stretch ratio of from 5 to 20% in the warp or weft direction, and comprising a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) fiber at least in the direction in which the woven fabric shows stretchability. The high density woven fabric of the present invention shows good stretchability and water resistance (water pressure resistance), less produces rustling when contacted with woven fabrics, and provides an excellent soft and comfortable feeling, and it is therefore appropriate to sportswear, outerwear and the like.

The invention provides false twisted yarn of a polyester composite fiber characterized in that the fiber is composed of single-filaments which are laminated with two types of polyester components in a side-by-side or eccentrical core/sheath fashion, at least one of the two polyester components is poly(trimethylene terephthalate), the difference in intrinsic viscosity between the two polyester components is 0.05-0.9 (dl/g), and the false twisted yarn has latent crimpability and has at least 50% stretching elongation of developed crimps prior to boiling water treatment.
