The invention relates to a fabric and a garment comprising such a fabric to reduce the irritating effect on the skin. The invention applies especially to fabrics, clothes, and underwear for use in sports, for example running. The fabric comprises at least one contact portion that comes in contact with the skin and is knitted or woven using synthetic threads. At least on the rear side of the contact portion, at least 90 percent of the synthetic threads are made of uniform synthetic threads, said rear side to come in contact with the skin. Such a fabric considerably reduces the irritating effect on the skin, especially for male runners.
