    摘要: A tension member (2) formed from the cords manufactured by subjecting a set of a plurality of glass fiber filaments to RFL treatment and twisting unidirectionally is utilized in a belt (1). In this tension member (2), a high strong glass is employed as the aforementioned glass fiber, the number of the aforementioned unidirectional twisting is 2.2 to 3.0 cycles/inch, and, the diameter of the code is 0.65 to 0.90 mm or the area occupied by the aforementioned glass in a cross section of the code is 0.22 to 0.26 mm . Due to the above structure, the resistance of the belt to water and flex fatigue is improved, without detriment to the high strength of the belt. Further, the impact resistance of the belt can be improved by employing a code wherein the share of the area occupied by the glass in that of a cross section of the code is 45 to 70 %.
