Abstract: Method for producing ethylamines and monoisopropylamine (MIPA), in which bioethanol is reacted with ammonia in the presence of hydrogen and a heterogeneous catalyst to form ethylamines, wherein the bioethanol contains sulphur and/or sulphur-containing compounds of ≥ 0.1 ppm by weight (calculated S), and then in the presence of the same catalyst, isopropanol is reacted with ammonia in the presence of hydrogen to form MIPA.
