The cross-section of the aperture determined by the supports (18) is smaller than the area of a single sheet to be delivered and the sheets to be delivered (2) are pushed through the aperture by the single-sheet acceptance plate (4). The edges of the last single sheet (2) pressed through the aperture of the single-sheet cassette (15) are supported on the supports (18). The stacks (21, 24) of single sheets can be taken from the single-sheet cassette (15) by an operator without interrupting the delivery process.
