The invention relates to a method of managing renewals of subscriptions for the parking of vehicles in a geographical zone in which parking is regulated with pay-and-display machines that are installed therein. According to the invention, a person first obtains a subscription from a parking management operator for authorisation to park one or more vehicles for a first determined period. The subscriber and the vehicle(s) are identified by identification means which are recorded in a database of a central subscription management server (8) and parking is controlled by a control officer. The inventive method is characterised in that, in order to renew a subscription for a new period, the subscriber presents himself/herself at one (1) of the pay-and-display machines which communicates with the server (8), identifies himself/herself using the aforementioned subscriber identification means (2) and renews the subscription with the aid of the pay-and-display machine (1).

The invention relates to a method of issuing a ticket which has been paid for using illegal payment means. The invention is intended to be implemented during a transaction between a user and a ticket-dispensing automaton (10), at the end of which the automaton (10) delivers a ticket (28R, 28M, 46R, 46M) to the user in exchange for a payment, said automaton (10) comprising means for detecting illegal payment means. The inventive method is of the type in which the transaction comprises the following successive steps: a first step (E2) in which the user pays for the ticket (28R, 28M, 46R, 46M) using a payment means, a second step (E3) in which the automaton (10) checks the legality of the payment means, and a third step (E4R) in which a regular ticket (28R, 46R) is issued when the payment means are found to be legal. The invention is characterised in that, when the payment means are found to be illegal, the issued ticket (28M, 46M) is marked such that it can be differentiated from a regular ticket (28R) when inspected.
