    摘要: An AV signal transmission and receiving system (10) capable of appropriately receiving an AV signal includes a source apparatus (200) and a sink apparatus (100) connected to the source apparatus (200) via an HDMI (registered trademark) cable (300). The sink apparatus (100) includes: an AV signal receiving unit (101) which receives an AV signal via the HDMI (registered trademark) cable (300); a memory (140) which holds the EDID; a rewriting unit (130) which rewrites the EDID held in the memory (140); an HPD control unit (150) which controls output of an HPD signal; and a determining unit (120) which: determines whether the AV signal which has been received is an HDMI (registered trademark) signal conforming to an HDMI (registered trademark) standard or a digital visual interface (DVI) signal; and when the determining unit determines that the AV signal is a DVI signal, instructs the rewriting unit (130) to rewrite the EDID held in the memory (140), and instructs the HPD control unit (150) to output the HPD signal indicating that reading of the EDID which has been rewritten is possible.
