Retaining means (4, 5) which can be controlled in a reversible manner are controlled or triggered accordingly in the event of a crash being unavoidable or a realistic possibility, whereas the retaining means (2, 3) which can be controlled in an irreversible manner can only be triggered (6, 7, 8) in the event of a certain crash with risk of injury.
