Das Wesen des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens besteht darin, dass während der Drehbearbeitung die Kante des verwendeten Zerspannungswerkzeuges: entweder um eine zu der Drehachse des Werkstückes parallele Drehachse innerhalb eines Abschnittes gedreht wird, welcher Abschnitt durch die Endpunkte eines den Querschnitt des Werkstückes schneidenden Kreisbogens begrenzt ist, oder in einer zu der Drehachse (O1) des Werkstückes (1) senkrechten Ebene entlang einer Geraden bewegt wird, die eine zu der Drehachse (O1) des Werkstückes (1) windschiefe, den Querschnitt des Werkstückes (1) jedoch schneidende Gerade bildet. The driving mechanism includes a bidirectional driving member (62) for selectively applying, to the actuating member, one of a normal driving force (F1) for making the actuating member move from the opening-operation position to the closing-operation position and a reverse driving force (F2) for making the actuating member move from the closing-operation position to the opening-operation position. Thus, it is possible to selectively implement one of an actuating-member pushing-type structure provided with the chuck (14A) having a stationary configuration and an actuating-member drawing-type structure provided with the chuck (14B) having a moving configuration.
