A method of manufacturing large thin wall ceramics board includes pulverizing and uniformly mixing, in dry content conversion, plasticity clay in an amount of 30-40% by weight, wollastonite having an aspect ratio of more than 10 in an amount of 20-50% by weight, and feldspar and talc in an amount of 10 50 % by weight to form a mixture. The mixture is added with a solution having a 16-21% weight of the weight of this mixture. The solution has 10% by weight of a paraffin emulsion. The clay-like composition is extruded with a vacuum kneading machine to form a cylindrical shape. The extruded clay-like composition is made into dough board compact of desired thickness after being partially cut parallel to the cylinder. The dough board compact is heated to approximately 80 degrees Celsius with far infrared radiation. The heated dough board is transported on a heat proof metal mesh belt having temperature of between 80 and 150 degrees Celsius, and then gradually heated and dried at 150 to 350 degrees Celsius to dehydrate the dough board. The dehydrated bough board is baked at 1000-1200 degrees Celsius in roller hearth kiln combustion heating device.

A thin ceramic plate which is a ceramic plate consisting of a multilayered calcined sheet with at least a 3-layer construction comprising a ceramic material as the major component, wherein the majority of the layers of the layered construction have a layer thickness of 0.05-3 mm and have substantially different ceramic material compositions, with at least one pair of adjacent layers having thermal expansion coefficients adjusted to differ by no more than 2 x 10 -6 /°C. Even at low thicknesses of 2-10 mm and large-sized dimensions of 100 cm and greater, such plates have excellent properties, including virtually no warping or other deformity, excellent flatness, water absorption of 0.5-10% and flexural strength of 350 kg/cm 2 or greater. The thin ceramic plate has high industrial value since it may be applied for a wide range of uses, including interior and exterior building materials, flooring materials, furniture, household goods such as wash-stand counters and kitchen utensils, top plates and counters for testing benches, various interior goods, materials for civil engineering such as inner panels for tunnels, for tourism-related purposes such as guide boards and signboards, and artistic painting.

The present invention is directed to a process for the preparation of crystalline anionic clay-containing bodies from sources comprising an aluminium source and a magnesium source comprising the steps of: a) preparing a precursor mixture, b) shaping the precursor mixture to obtain shaped bodies, c) optionally thermally treating the shaped bodies, and d) ageing to obtain crystalline anionic clay-containing bodies. The quintessence of the present invention is that the bodies are shaped prior to the forming of the crystalline anionic clay in said bodies. This results in very attrition resistant bodies, without the need to add a binder material.

The invention concerns a method of producing powder-form moulding compounds for the injection-moulding of ceramic materials, the compounds being mixed, before injection-moulding, with a binder which is liberated after injection-moulding. The invention calls for a preliminary stage to be introduced involving a heat treatment or a pressure treatment or both and in which water of crystallization contained in the crystal lattice is driven off. This makes it possible to use ceramic materials in injection-moulding processes. This is of particular advantage in the use of such compounds in porcelain manufacture, i.e. in firing such mouldings to produce porcelain.
