A method for manufacturing an object having a potential {x} which is generated in response to a field {f} applied thereto is provided. The method includes the step of designing a geometric model of the object. A computerized mathematical model of the object is generated by discretizing the geometric model of the object into a plurality of finite elements and defining nodes at boundaries of the elements, wherein values of the field {f} and potential {x} are specified at the nodes. A material property matrix [k] is then calculated based on the relationship {f}=[k]{x}. Material property coefficients are then extracted from the material property matrix [k] for each finite element in the computerized mathematical model and the extracted material property coefficients are compared to material property coefficients for known materials to match the extracted material property coefficients to the material property coefficients for known materials. Manufacturing parameters corresponding to the matched material property coefficients are then determined. The object is then manufactured in accordance with the determined manufacturing parameters.

There is disclosed a method of making a game racket frame which comprises the use of a tubular body of aluminium alloy consistent with a shape of a racket frame (10). An annular recess (20) is provided respectively at the mid-point of the left-hand half of the head frame (121) and at the mid-point of the right-hand half of the head frame. The annular recess (20) is coated with adhesive resin. The tubular body is placed in a moulding tool (30) comprising a mould cavity (34) having an annular ring which is located at a position corresponding to the annular recess (20) of the tubular body and which has a shape corresponding to that of the annular recess (20) of the tubular body and a size slightly larger than that of the annular recess (20) of the tubular body. Molten plastics material is injected into the mould cavity (34) under pressure and heat. Upon completion of the curing of the plastic material, the racket frame is removed from the moulding tool. The racket frame so made is provided with weight-balancing pieces (16, 18) fastened securely to the head frame (12) of the racket (10).

A sports racket is provided that has a racket body with a racket head. The racket head has a frame that has substantially rectangular face shape with appropriately rounded corners. The frame has a string mounting positions in a predetermined arrangement on the four sides of the rectangular face shape. There are lockable grommets integrally disposed in the frame with each grommet at a different string mounting position. A string mounted to the racket head at the string mounting position forms individual strings of the main string portion and the cross string portion of the racket head. The lockable grommets can adjust tension of each individual string to control tension and thus vibration in the entire racket head.
