摘要: A hybrid air boost vehicle makes use of the porous panels (1) and suction devices (5) of a vehicle aerodynamic drag reduction system, and makes use of the air consumed by such a system, to provide the energy and air to power a land or water based ground effects vehicle. Energy and air consumed by the suction system, and normally wasted, is recycled by providing an air cushion to partially support the vehicle. The entire hybrid air boost vehicle system is more efficient than either a drag reduction system or a ground effects vehicle alone, and the benefits of both are realized, as well as benefits unique to the hybrid vehicle.

摘要: To avoid, among others, "plough-in effects" and to decrease friction resistance and tendency to dip forward during travel, a hovercraft which at the bottom side is provided with an air cushion space to be placed under pressure, which space at the front side is defined by a skirt (2) made of flexible material such as rubber or canvas, which skirt (2) is designed in the form of one or more trough-shaped segments (3), each through-shaped segment having a lower part (4a) of the front wall (4) sloping from the front backwards, is characterised in that at least the lower part (4a) of the front wall (4) of each trough-shaped segment (3) slopes from the front backwards at an angle α within the region from 20° - 35° with the horizontal towards the lower edge (8) of the skirt (2). This angle α is preferably 25°, while the front wall (4) of each segment (3) is extended at the top side by a fixing piece (7). Also, the lower part (4a) of the front wall (4) preferably passes via a bend into a top part (4b) which slopes from the front backwards at an angle greater than 45°.
