摘要: A fluid pumping system including a variable-volume, fluid-reception chamber (10,27) having an inlet conduit (13,30) leading from a fluid supply site (32) and an outlet conduit (16,34) leading to a fluid delivery site (36). An elongate plunger body (20,23,40) is drivingly coupled with the chamber and linearly reciprocable along its longitudinal axis so as to alternately expand and contract the volume of the chamber, thereby alternately drawing a fluid therein through the inlet conduit (13,30) from the fluid supply site and pumping the fluid through the outlet conduit (16,34) towards the delivery site. The linear reciprocation of the plunger body is effected by an electromagnetically operated drive (51-57, 61-63), preferably a linear motor drive, at a rate of reciprocation in the range of 0.01 to 10 Hz.

摘要: A high-speed rotary filling machine, for filling containers with carbonated beverages or other flowable substances, has a turret (38) mounted on a horizontal axis (31). The containers (30) are carried in radially-extending positions around the circumference of the turret, open ends facing inwards, and are filled by conventional filling valves (43) within the turret. The centrifugal effect of rotating the turret at high speed is utilised to enable filling to take place over an arc of rotation approaching 360 . Spillage problems due to centrifugal effects are avoided by transferring the containers to a linear exit conveyor (58) tangentially at the lowest position (19) of turret rotation, without changing the linear velocity of the container.

摘要: An apparatus for collecting solar energy for providing thermic or electrical energy. The apparatus comprises a frame (2, 3) having a reflector means mounted therein in the form of a concave part-cylindrical mirror screen (1) of axis-symmetric cross-sectional shape for concentrating incident solar rays towards a central focal line, a solar energy utilizing means (7) placed in the hot region of the extension of the focal line along the screen (1), a drive means (20; 22) for turning the screen (1) about at least one axis, and a control circuit having a solar sensor means for actuating the drive means, for turning the screen (1) according to the movement of the sun. The solar energy utilizing means is an elongated container of transparent material which is arranged to receive a heating means (40; 43; 45) for direct utilization of the generated thermic energy for baking, roasting or cooking of food products placed in the heating means, or to receive a solar cell means (46) for producing electrical energy under the influence of solar rays concentrated in the container, and the solar sensor means comprises at least one photosensitive element (33) located in the vicinity of the caustic surface created by reflection of the solar rays when incident on the screen (1) parallel to the axis of symmetry of the cross-section of the screen.
