摘要： A continuously engaged recliner assembly (20) selectively locks a seat back in one of a plurality of reclined positions about a pivot axis relative to a seat cushion on a vehicle seat. The recliner assembly includes a cylindrical housing (30) having an annular rim of gear teeth (34). A carrier plate (40), having outwardly extending drive pins (42), is rotatably nested within the cylindrical housing (30). An input shaft (50) is rotatably journaled to and extends between the cylindrical housing (30) and the carrier plate (40). Rotation of the shaft (30) causes the first and second gear (60, 62) to move in a hypocycloidal motion around the annular rim of gear teeth (34). A biasing member (58) operatively interconnecting the first (52) and second (55) cams rotatably biases the first and second cams in opposing directions, in turn biasing the first (60) and second (62) gears, respectively, in opposing directions against the cylindrical housing (30), thereby minimizing play within the recliner mechanism.

摘要： A seat assembly (10) for use in an automotive vehicle comprises a seat back (34) pivotally connected to a seat cushion (32) by a pair of recliner assemblies. The seat assembly is supported by and above the floor of the vehicle by a pair of center pivot assemblies (56, 58). The seat cushion is releasably supported by opposing sidewalls of the vehicle by front latch assemblies (60, 62). The recliner assemblies (52, 54) provide pivotal movement of the seat back (34) relative to the seat cushion (32) between an upright seating position and a forward folded flat position against the seat cushion. With the seat assembly in the folded flat position, the latch assemblies (60, 62) may be released to unlock the seat cushion from the sidewalls and allow the seat assembly to rotate about the center pivot assemblies (56, 58) from the folded flat position to a stowed position recessed within a storage cavity (16) within the floor of the vehicle.

A generally U-shaped retainer strap partially surrounds the gear and is adapted to couple the housing and gear together to align and preload the worm and gear. A generally U-shaped bracket is adapted to be fixedly secured to the movable member, wherein the gear, housing, worm, and retainer strap are disposed within the bracket and the threaded screw passes through a pair of openings in the bracket.

摘要： A vehicle seat has a seat back and a seat cushion and a pair of recliners hingedly mounting the seat back to the seat cushion providing pivotal movement of a seat back relative to a seat cushion. Each of the recliners has a guide plate configured to be mounted to the seat cushion and a toothed plate rotatably assembled to the guide plate. The toothed disc has a flange having a series of internal teeth thereon. A plurality of pawls is mounted between the toothed plate and the guide plate. The pawls each has a toothed surface and is moveable between a locked position with the toothed surfaces engaging the series of teeth to lock the toothed plate relative to the guide plate, and an unlocked position with the toothed surfaces spaced from the teeth of the guide plate to allow movement of the toothed plate relative to the guide plate. A plurality of guides extends from the guide plate, guiding the pawls between the locked and unlocked positions. A cam is rotatably mounted between the guide plate and the toothed plate. The cam has a cam surface defined by a plurality of lobes for selective engagement with the pawls, selectively moving the pawls between the locked and unlocked positions. A spring continuously biases the cam, urging the pawls toward the locked position. A bushing is secured to the cam. The cam and the bushing have a lost motion connection therebetween. A rod extending through the bushing on each of the recliners to gang the recliners together for simultaneous operation. The guide plate and the toothed plate have abutments that limit relative rotational travel therebetween.
