摘要:
A method is provided of identifying which one of a plurality of femtocell base stations neighbouring a first femtocell base station is to be the target for handover of a call connection with a user terminal from the first base station. The neighbour femtocell base stations use the same primary scrambling code as each other. The femtocell base stations use code-division multiple access, CDMA. Each of the neighbour femtocell base stations transmits a respective broadcast signal that include timing information such that each neighbour femtocell base station transmits a broadcast signal having different timing information to that of the other neighbour femtocell base stations. The user terminal receives broadcast signals, determines the timing information of at least one of the received broadcast signals and reports the timing information to the first femtocell base station. The first femtocell base station identifies the target femtocell base station for handover from the timing information.

There is provided a receiver for wireless communications. The receiver comprises a first leakage canceller operable to receive an RF signal comprising a desired signal component and a leakage signal component, and to suppress the leakage signal component using a first leakage cancellation mechanism to provide a modulated output signal comprising the desired signal component and a residual leakage signal component; and a second leakage canceller operable to receive the modulated output signal, and to cancel the residual leakage component in the modulated output signal using a second leakage cancellation mechanism to provide the desired signal.

A method, computer program and base station are disclosed. The method is performed at a base station providing radio coverage within a cell of a cellular wireless communication network. The method comprises: prior to scheduling cellular traffic within a frequency band used by at least one access point located within the cell and supporting non-cellular wireless communication, determining an indication of operational characteristics of the at least one access point within the cell; assessing, based on a comparison of the determined operational characteristics of the at least one access point within the cell with operational characteristics of the base station providing the radio coverage within the cell, a proportion of time that the frequency band may be used by the base station; and scheduling transmission of the cellular traffic in the frequency band in accordance with the assessed proportion of time. Aspects and embodiments may provide a configurable fair method according which the mode of operation of a scheduled cellular system can be intelligently chosen to cause a predictable degree of disruption to a contention-based system which shares resource with the scheduled cellular system.
