    摘要： A slide fastener having a split arrester (1) for preventing a pair of interengaged fastener stringers (S) from accidental splitting when a slider is removed. The split arrester (1) comprises interlocking male and female members (10, 20) mounted on a pair of fastener stringers (S) contiguously to the respective terminal portions of opposed coupling element rows and substantially equal in thickness and width of the coupling elements (E). The male member (10) has a locking tongue portion (12) projecting from an attachment base portion (11) toward the female member (20) and terminated in a protuberance (12a). The female member (20) has a locking hollow portion (22) for receiving the locking tongue portion (12) and having a pair of resilient catch portions (22a) for gripping a neck (12b) of the protuberance (12a) from opposite sides in the direction of thickness of the fastener tape (T).

    摘要： A fastener structure for a thermoplastic bag, comprising a pair of flexible plastic strips (14,15) adapted to be secured to the facing sidewalls along the mouth of a thermoplastic bag; reclosable interlocking male and female profile elements on the respective strips; and a slider (10) straddling the strips for opening or closing the male and female profile elements. The structure also includes end clamp means (30) located at the opposite ends of said strips (14,15), each of said end clamp means (30) comprising a pair of clamp members positioned, in use, on opposite sides of the bag for clamping the pair of strips and the facing sidewalls of the bag therebetween. Means (30a,30b) is provided for clamping each of said pair of clamp members together to provide a seal at the ends of said strips, said end clamp means providing a stop surface adapted to engage with the slider for preventing the slider from moving past the ends of the strips. A method of manufacturing a plurality of thermoplastic bags incorporating a fastener structure is also disclosed.

    摘要： A method of making an end stop for a slider of a fastener structure for a thermoplastic bag. The fastener structure comprises a pair of flexible plastic strips adapted to be connected to the walls of the bag (B) and having reclosable interlocking male and female profile elements (16,17) on the respective strips (14,15) and a slider (10) straddling the strips for opening and closing them. The method comprises clamping together a pair of the flexible plastic strips between clamps (40,41) at a seal area in the region intended to form an end of the strips, the clamps (40a,40b) having pockets (41a,41b) therein adjacent the profile elements at the seal area. The profile elements are severed and heated at the seal area with a heated knife (45) to transform the severed ends of the profile elements into molten material; the molten material is pressed into the pockets in the clamps (40,41) with the heated knife (45) thereby increasing the thickness of an area of the strips adjacent the seal area to provide a protruding end stop for preventing movement of the slider past the ends of the bag (30).
